Everton’s Alex Denny will look to make European Championship history with England Under-17s on Friday after helping his nation through to the final with a 2-1 win over Turkey.
The Young Lions are bidding to become the first country to win the competition for a third time, having triumphed in 2010 and 2014.
Midfielder Denny was named as a substitute for Tuesday’s semi-final but stepped off the bench after just 26 minutes to replace Tottenham’s Tashan Oakley-Boothe, who was taken to hospital after a collision.
Chelsea striker Callum Hudson-Odoi had already put England ahead by that point and Steve Cooper’s side doubled their advantage before half-time through Tottenham’s Jadon Sancho.
