INDIANAPOLIS -- Coming off one of its worst performances of the season, the Colts defense took another hit Monday.
Cornerback Pierre Desir -- a true success story during a dismal campaign -- was placed on injured reserve, ending his season after six promising starts.
He was injured early in the second quarter of Sunday's 30-10 loss at Jacksonville, leaving Indianapolis to finish the game with three rookie cornerbacks -- Kenny Moore II, Quincy Wilson and Nate Hairston -- on the field.
And, with veteran Rashaan Melvin still healing from a hand injury and unsure of his availability this week -- that trio could remain at the top of the depth chart when the Colts (3-9) head to Buffalo (6-6) this weekend.
